How Come it always seems to go...

...that you dont know what you got till it's gone?

Today spelt the last day of say of my Saga at Haighs Chocolates on collins street. I sayed my goodbyes and took a lot of chocolate. Will I go back one day? The prospect is probable, mabye Easter, we'll see. I like the idea of returning next Christmas period after school finishes, something to fall back on.

In the meantime I'm returning to a study mode and every day this week I have been going to the city library to do my homework, I still have quite a bit to do but it is managable. In retrospect leaving homework untill late in the holidays are a bad move, but at least it gets me into a study-like mood before the new school year. I havn't invested these holidays well, but no better than I usally do.

Corey got himself a house in chinatown, which is good for him. He still has a few things to work out and has to wait for the house to be emptied for him. In the meantime he will be staying with me boarding.

Post soon... mabye.

Cartoons and Capitalism

Monday, January 08, 2007

While reading the blog affiliated with the webtoon "Captain Capitalism" I stumbled upon a few youtubes. I love looking at old propaganda and despise with a passion modern propaganda. I believe this to be so because most of the old propaganda is so overt they will say anything to have people believe their argument.

Both of these cartoons are to prove to everyone how great the "American way of life" is. I frankly don't know how correct the statistics presented in these films are. It seems to ignore the presence of Australia, Canada and England. The films were from an age after Hitler and the nuclear age was born.

Meet King Joe (1949)

Powers of Management, Capital and Labour combine! At Haighs my job is labour intensive and doesn't have very much capital as far as my job is concerned. Haighs in general because of its "old timie" image does not use technology or computers in the shop (except for cash registers). At the moment we are inquiring about the privilege of a vacuum cleaner for the stock/break room, my boss just needs to remember to bring it up with her boss. But at least we have a lift and a trolley to move stock.

Lesson of the night: Don't sell away any of your freedoms to get an "ism"

A new day

Friday, January 05, 2007

Well, it has been a few days since my last post and I dont have any photos available at this present time.

New years was fine, Corey and I spent New Years together in the inner city. Before anything occured I got myself a copy of Trauma Center for the Nintendo DS. I finished it in 4 days, it was a great and addictive game with extra challenge.
During that time we played some video games at the arcade (Including a drumming game that injured Corey), we got Slushies from 7-11, listened to some Live Bands and Watched the fireworks as the the clocked ticked to '07. It was very nice.

At work our store one the sales competition and I get a $50 to David Jones, Yayness!

Its the new year and I still have lots of my homework left to do. I'll get onto it soon. In te meantime I am going to enjoy my time with Corey.
