The Sentinal
Friday, June 30, 2006
I recieved a responce from my letter to Corey. Now we are officially long Distance Boyfriends *smile*. This is very exciting. Today he told me that for personal reasons he's moving out of home and into a youth hostel.I am tired,
For the last two days I've been working hard on a movie with no title. I played the part of the Sentinal. He is the moniacle and cold support program for a science experiment called "The Mind Cage". The subject of the experiment was Serra, an ex-theif who was captured by mercanaries during her final heist and sent into the experiment. After spending time with Serra, the Sentinal pitties Serra and kills himself to set Serra free. Unfortunetly because the Sentinal is the support program, his death meant the failure of the system, hense killing Serra.
The Filming of this film has been plauged with a series of problems like wind in the microphones, changes in lighting, shadows, cows, batteries, film, blueness, stray hair. As well as the fact that most of the film was shot on a really tall isolated hill. I'll leave Peter to edit the film into somthing usable.
The cast and crew spent their time staying at Philips house. While not filming we played Nintendo DS or played Xbox or watching "Tron" or "We can be heros". I must congradulate Philips mum for her hospitality over the filming period, it was truly fantastic.
When I returned home Corerys first letter to me was waiting for me. I'll write back but wont send it until I can get the address of the youth hostel he is staying at. He said his room is looking a bit dull at the moment, but he's gonna stick the photos I sent him onto the wall. This transitional period will be tough for him, hopefully I can play a part in making it easier for him.
Don't you Forget about Me!
Tuesday, June 27, 2006
Last Night I was fortunate enough to accompany Layla and her mum to the Estre theatre in Saint Kilda. What we saw was Ferris Beulers day off and the Breakfast Club, JOY! I had seen the breakfast club before but had not seen Feris beulers Day Off. Now I can clearly see what the fuss is about. I still don't like Bender, even though he does still look like Bono in the final freeze of the movie. Becides a problem involving myself loosing my shirt, everything seemed to go hunky-dory.Note: I was dressing in Layers that day, get your head out of the gutter!)
Today was very interesting. Corey and I went in a date virtually in whe world of Gaia online. We found a nice secluded place where we sat down and talked. It was very nice. We were watched by a Ninja, but didn't care (What could a Ninja do that I couldn't?). Over the time we developed a better understanding of eachother not to mention got more intimate. There were lots of Bear Hugs, Kissing, tail wagging, Back Rubs, Belly Scratching, Woofing and Roaring. We watched the sun set. He said he loved me, he called me "love". I told him that I loved him and called him "Love".
This is not a reality, It's a virtual reality and hense not real. Dispite this I had a great day.

The Parcel I sent yesterday should arrive tomorrow. I wonder how he's gonna respond. On reflection, it might be a worthwhile idea to invest in "Express" post in the future.
Another Day where I did no work, Tomorrow I'll try to get a lot of work done. You have my word as a procrasinator.
I'm involved in the making of Peters Film, little did I know that it would take four days so shoot a 10-20 minute film. This could probably get messy.
A day with Corey
Saturday, June 24, 2006
Today I spent a day with Corey, dispite the barrier of 558 Kilometers. This was made possible by the fabulous invention called "The Internet" and the tool "MSN instant messenger". He's really cool, very sweet. He also has an interesting story. After two conversations on MSN he's been promoted from MSN Random to pen-pal, and I'm very interested in continuing in this relationship. Here is a picture:
Cute ey?
Other than that, I have barely moved away from my work Station. Other than talking to Corey (Which has been a lighlight of my holiday)I wasted a day.
In other news I weighed myself on some bathroom scales. I now weigh 90 kilograms. I don't feel fatter from before, but I do feel stronger than before. I believe this is natures way of telling me that tonight I should go to bed and not wake up until the spring.
Peace Out,
CaptainCub (AKA Jack)

Over the past three hours I've been working hard on the links list that you can now see on the right side of the page. Every time I tried something it would come up with a dead end, but now I think I have cracked it.I also removed that annoying truthquiz.com box. Enjoy the links.

I'd like to thank Stefano for pointing me towards this movie about suburbia, the american dream and environmental sastainabilty.
Warning: This movie does cotain old school footage and goes for 1 hour and 17 minutes
There is something violently wrong with how your filling up days when the highlights include going up to the local shops specifically to buy lemon sherbert.

Tring to achieve the Maxamim Score on a Warioware MicroGame (and fail)
Completing "Another Code"
Another Code is a very good puzzle game, it's a very short game, but it's depth and quality very much compinsates for it. It probably would of been even longer hadn't I relied on a walkthough whenever I was stumped. I Give Another Code 8/10.

My new Blogger Profile Picture:
Currently listening to: Careless wisper (Never gonna dance again): George Michael.Last night I went to Minus 18, the underage GBLTI event. And now I have been there, I'm pretty sure that I wont go again. Last night was this small town christian boys first experience with the clubbing scene, it was loud! Sometimes loud can be a good thing, not for me, once volume raches a cirtan volume and note my eardrum ruptures slighlty and everything sounds like tinfoil being crunched up, not to mention it hurts alot. There was not a lot of 80s music for an 80s night, more music of the heavy trance variety.
I was suprised how many people I knew where there. Most of EGG and lot of people I've met online. There were also all different types, including people in tight hot pants or 7ft tall Transgenders. It was very crowded. Frankly I prefer somthing more intimate.
I met up with Stephano, we floated around and danced for a while. Then I decided that we'd leave and go somewhere better. We left 'inflation' to go talk under one of the footbridges on the Yarra. It was great! I prefered that to that sweaty dance club. I was able to get a greater understanding of this italian guy i've been speaking to. It was nice to just sit and talk with the city lights and water flowing under our feet. At one point there was even a sax player playing, mmmmm.....urban.
We went back to inflation to collect my things from the cloak room and promptly left. Stefano got a chocolate baggett, I ate wassabi peas. We went our sepperate ways and I went home. It was an Eltham train, it took me an hour and a half to get home. I was cold.
I've got lots of things swirling around my head at the moment:
Organise a camping trip to the Upper Yarra Resivoir Park.
Make plans for a movie about a Mascot Hitman for Plenty assembly.
Structure Ideas for tallent quest.
My letter to Nintendo Australia
Tuesday, June 20, 2006
June 20, 2006Nintendo Australia
PO BOX 804
Ferntree Gully Victoria 3156
Dear those at Nintendo Australia:
I would like to start this letter by thanking you for providing me many years of quality entertainment. I feel as though there are some things that I wish to present to the company.
Firstly, Last weekend I was able to attend the DS connection tour at both Eastland and Chadstone. There were times when most of the people were in a state of hysteria, especially when prizes were being thrown into the audience. People seem to really love Mario related products, especially shirts and belts. Perhaps it might be a wise decision to sell some of these goods from the website so people could acquire these goods without having to fight for them.
The agency you used for the event was a good one. They seemed to be informed enough and doing their job to a high quality, I was happy to see one of the staff actually playing the games they were promoting on their shirts. I particularly enjoyed ball room dancing with Mario.
After arriving home after day two, my eyes ached. It was then that I realised that I had been looking at screens all day with hardly any breaks. At future events, it would be a good idea to have the announcer of the event to occasionally remind attendees to take a 10 to 15 minute break every hour, she seemed to be talking about everything else. I’m sure I’m not the only person returning home feeling the way I did.
I am happy that Nintendo’s plan for the DS and Wii plan on bringing non-gamers and ex-gamers back into the market by bringing out more adult themed games like “Dr Kawashima’s Brain Training: How old is your brain” and “Big Brain Academy” I was excited when I read that in the US the brain games were retailing for $20 each. After finding out that in Australia the games were retailing for $50 and $70, I was rather disappointed. They are great games and I feel as though they should be shared with as many people as possible, and those prices are un-inviting for non-gamers.
The DS lite and Game campaigns on television look fantastic. I was with a bunch of friends when a Brain Age commercial came on TV. They were pointing to the screen above our heads and were going “Hey, that’s the game you and (*friends name*) are addicted to”. It has been a while since I’ve seen any advertising coming out of you lot. I must congratulate those in the marketing department (Even though it looks like those TV spots were made in the US). It seems like everyone wants a copy of New Super Mario Brothers or at least is aware of it.
I am looking forward to the future of your company. It looks to a very exciting time for the company and the consumers.
Sincerely,
Jack Chapman
Brain Age: 38 (and falling)
Ps. My pants seem to be too loose and keep on falling down. Can you please help me with my problem?
DS Connection Tour: Day 2/ I dream of a chocolate waffle buffet
Monday, June 19, 2006

Yesterday I went with Phil, Peter and Lyellyn (spelling?) to the Second Day of the DS connection tour.

When we arrived over half an hour before It opened there was already a decent sized line. In the line we met a pair of hard-core gamers. Hard core gamers are scarey. They win at any cost, not to mention they are either too tall or fat and have braces and acne (This is Trek Con 05 all over again).

I spent the majority floating around and playing the various demos and old school games. Twenty years of magic. It was very crowded at some times. There was one women who was announcing the event, boy did she not shut up. It was borderline annoying/ impressive that her voice could hold out for so long.

I entered in the competition, but I only got two the second round. Some of the more hard core people were really good. Especially when they pulled out all the stops to win.

There where some points where announcers were inducing the crowed into a state of mass hysteria, even to the point when they were doing things that would under regular circumstances would be deemed very weird. When prizes were being thrown into the audience everyone went crazy. Including myself to some extent. One thing I wanted was the Mario Belts that all the staff were wearing and were being thrown over the audience. One Hard-core got three (grrrr). I've been planning on writing a letter to Nintendo about how i feel about where they are at and the companies plans for the future. Somewhere towards the end I might add "Oh and by the way, my pants keep falling down. Can you please help me with my problem?". If they are being thrown over the audience like lollies I am sure that they aren't worth anything at all.

Also throughout the day I ball room danced with THE Mario Mario, he was pretty good if not a little clumsy. For an entertainer (he? she? it?) was doing a good job. We had our photos taken with him.
I downloaded a few games and played a fair share of people. However all and all I feel ash though I have wasted my day. Apon returning my eyes were throbbing and I felt like crap.
Apon returning home I had an interesting MSN conversation with Stefano. We covered a whole bunch of things. At one point we were giving animals political and religious persuasions like:
Minnie the Morman Mole,
Christina the Catholic Crocodile,
Bulldozer the Dictatorship bull.
We were chatting for over 7 hours, we compared our old man pajamas and such. Without goint into too much detail. And apologising if my loose descriptors dont do the original Justice:
Stefano is:
17
In year 12
Italian heritage
5"5'
Focused on study
Plays music and has a few songs of his own
Is part of a socialist group.
Has a cat named Rosco
Is vegetarian
ect.
After seven hours of talking it was no wonder that the following evening he was part of one of one dreams. I was at his house it was rather cramped and his mum wouldn't allow me to touch anything. So instead I went to the park behuind his house where the Uniting Chirch was opperating a Dessert Buffet including chocolate waffles and I ate 'till I was full. Then I woke up. I sometimes have dreams like that, I'm amazed none of my pillows have gone missing.
Tomorrow I'm going to Minus 18's 80s night. It seems as though I know everyone who is going there. I'm thinking of wearing my Rave wear, as well as sporting my unleashed ponytail.
Note: Minus 18 is a regular dance event where GBLTI youth can come together and have fun. (This will be my first, so I decide I could take my last statement in any way).
Brain Age: Havn't done it today! But I will.
Oh yeah, This is a picture of my DS and all of its nice accessories:
The Day I met Mario
Saturday, June 17, 2006
Usally I am the one to stand behind our metropolitan public transport system, grading it fairly well, feeling as though they don't do a perfect job, but they do a satisfactory job. Recently I've been hearing the words "Connex Apologises for any inconvenience caused" too many times. Today the service between Hurstbridge and Heidelburg was canceled due to track maintenance. I had to take a connecting service to Heidelburg. All and all it was irritating but managable. In the end I did get to my destination. Connex gets a score of C- this weekend. That aside today I went to the DS connection tour and met Mario. He seemed like a nice person however he did come off as a womaniser and a flirt. I also presented my SMS I recieved from nintendo to the people at the front counter and they game me a special wrist band for my DS. The actual tour seemed rather lame. There were a bunch of screens with all the differenct consoles connected with all the old Mario Games and comfy couches to sit it on, on the other end there were full playable demos of games soon to be released. I came out of that wanting to buy Big Brain Academy, but I had done that already. There was aparently a full schedual of events planned for the day, but I didn't stay long. I'm going in super early with Peter and Phil tomorrow and I dont think they will let me leave until I have competed in everything. Tomorrow I'll bring my camera as well, get a few happy snaps.
I played a random guy on the train who had a DS lite and Brain Age. After some difficulty establishing a link, we played a few rounds. This guy was super good. I got my arse beaten.
Tommorrow I will have lots of Photos, yayness!

"Ebaying Around" or "What! I have the brain of an 80 year old!!"

So far I have had a mixed experience with ebay. It truly is a gamble. I have experience good buyers, slow payers, excelent sellers and fraudulent goods. My black DS has arived and I am very happy about it. Even Erin seems to like Brain Age: How old is your brain (includes sudoku). However the copy of Warioware: Twisted I got was a chinese fake. I emailed the seller a letter disclosing my unsatisfaction, hopefully this can be resolved in a fast and diplomatic manner.
All of my games have been paid for and sent with the exception of one person who I havn't heard anything back from. With any luck i should break even.
Mr Moore announced he was leaving today. Y'know, although he was a real prick hard arse with no sence of humour, He did make a difference to the school that i felt was for the better.
Last day of school was today and I got my report back. Even though I could of done better, I feel as though I have done a really good term of work. Now I have two weeks with time to fill. I have a few responsibilitys to maintain but for the majority its entirely "me" time.
Nintendo Connection tour is tomorrow or Sunday. Hopefully I will get a bunch of goodies for me to take home, I hope I do. At least I have the chance to meet Mario IN PERSON!
Dr Kawashima's tip to warming up your brain #1: In the morning, count all the strokes you do with your toothbrush while brushing your teeth.
Last night for dinner I ate Pork! Remember that!

I found this amongst a forum. I found it clever, political and hot.
Saturday, 9:16pm. It's almost the end of the week. Seems like as good a time as any to write in my blog. This week has been both action packed and uneventful. Conciquently I don't feel as though I have actually achieved anything. I would have to say that the highlights of my week include winning a game on ebay and selling a game on ebay and buying another game.
This week the world did infact not end on the 6th day of the 6th month of the 6th year, I am relieved. And even though the world did not end it was a good excude to invite people around to play the game of life and fortuine cookies. Now I have to deal with doing my Oral presentation for english. I feel as though I am underprepared, but I also feel as though I'm more than capable of winging it.
On thurday the Theatre studies class did the second and last production of Oedipus. We had a total number of audience members as one, if it were any other performace I probably would of been dissapointed. In the end this was to pass the subject. It went well becides the occasional major glitch. It seemes to me that its the same things are going wrong, only in different or even in more creative ways.
For example: On the first performance we had no idea who would play the two daughters, it wasnt discussed. So we had a lot of confusion. On thurday i got two people to play the daughters and they totally overdid it, and destroyed the total scene.
Friday was the Debutaunt for the year 11's. Typically they saw it as a good excuse to take some time off school. That day we had a total of about 14 year 11s at school. Needless to say, classes were very intimate. Supposedly some were having were being cut, sprayed, shaved and/or waxed, painted, fitted or simply taking the day off school because it seemed as though everyobdy else to say. I spent most of that day dealing with ebay related matters. I actually enjoyed the smaller class sizes for the few classes we proceeded to do work.
So far I have bought 2 games for the DS and won one GBA game on ebay. I do not have a console in my hot little hands as of yet, but its only a matter of time. The following week is a very nintendo related week. The last of my ebay auctions are ending, in the buying and selling side. Also there is a 20 years of Mario festivle down in Chadstone on Saturday, it should be fun. I realised some of the cheap ways ebay makes its money. They give you innitial charges for listing and selling, but the place it really stings is when you have to pay them to pay them back. They charge $8 for them to take money out of your bank account. I am not going to be selling on ebay soon. Erin gave me a bit of a help with one of my less popular items.

On Gaia online I am on a quest to turn myself into the wolf boy.
Here's to another week!
